I know that A LOT of public school openings are in/around February and March. My current contract at an academy finishes at the end of February and I plan on going home for a bit after that but I don't want to wait a full year before I come back. When do the public schools (in Seoul) start hiring again? Is it in August?

Any public high school teachers in Seoul on this board?

Usually May to July but they still continue into August. They overhire because of runners, no shows.

To add to this, another SMOE friend said he wanted to move from a middle to a high school. SMOE said "no" because there are not March high school jobs open.

I can also vouch for Korvia. I'm in Gyeonggi-do, not Seoul btw ... but they were great and even helped me with some new contract issues a month after I'd already been working here.
