Hi all!

My first post as off to Korea at the end of Feb. Just been offered a position with EPIK in Gangwon-Do but have a question about criminal checks.

Do EPIK accept Disclosure Scotland checks? particularly has anyone been accepted to EPIK with one.

Hi. I've spent some time googling. There are some recruiters I've seen which recruit English teachers for Korea.

On their website they have links to the subject access and basic disclosure.

They state both are acceptable.

Read these two links, I think you'd agree it seems to be ok.

I hope so, that's what I've sent!

Basic Disclosure requires notarization and an apostille. Subject Access doesn't need notarization, but does need apostille.

yep, they do.
One of my teachers even reported to me that the Disclosure Scotland will apostille the document for free, saving him the trip down to London!
I checked with EPIK if this was all ok and both Silver and Grace at EPIK confirmed all was ok.
A few of our Brits are using them and we have not had any problems so far.
You see, Korea can take your dignity, but they can never take.......
