A couple of weeks ago I posted a resume on Work 'n Play, and a hagwon director replied with an e-mail stating interest in an interview. This was around December 31st.

He said he was going to call me the Friday of that week (Jan. 2nd) to arrange the interview, but alas, there was no word from him, until I e-mailed him again on Tuesday (Jan. 13th). He replied back saying he lost my phone number (which was weird because they are both on my resume and the previous e-mail I sent him), and said he would call again as soon as possible.

Roll forward to Friday, and still no word. So I e-mailed him AGAIN, and there's no word from him.

From my point of view, I see this as either disrespectful (because I've been waiting on him since last Friday, with no concern or effort to update me), or him being not on top of things, enough for me to be concerned about working for him.

Am I being too impatient? Or would you have cut this loose a long time ago? I've honestly really wanted to, but this is basically my last option here (non-teaching position), or I'm out of here and back to the US, so I've wanted to wait this out a little longer. Your thoughts would be appreciated, and thanks.

I would have 'cut it loose' a long time ago. He's found someone he prefers over you, but is keeping you 'on the line' in case they back out.

Forget about him. Take yourself else where because he`s just toying you along.

Sounds like the kind of guy that'll screw you over. You can bet he's just playing a corrupt business game with pawns he cares little about.
