After marrying this past year, my taxes are going to be a lot different. I'd like to hire someone to do them. Anyone know where I can get Korean taxes done? US taxes done?

How do you American F-2'ers do it, usually? Do you get a refund on the Korean side?

I've asked this question a couple of times and haven't really got a good answer.

My situation this year is going to be out of my league as well.

The only thing I have found is H and R Block located in Itaewon. I had one person tell me they were good on this board in another thread, so I'm going to head down there after I get my paperwork together and see if I like them.

I guess the other option is to look into the software that is available, but I'm not sure if those programs cover international marriages and expat situations.

I'm hoping for some more threads to start as we get more into the filing season.

I can only help you out on the Korean end. I have an accountant that did my taxes and saved me a couple mil last year. I sure did get some tax breaks because of my wife not working, and kid. I don't think you would benefit much from your wife though, as she is working and not supported by you.

Thanks guys.

I got ahold of H&R Block in Itaewon, too, and he said the cost can be anywhere between $125 and $1,000 to have my taxes done. Most likely, it'll be quite close to $125, depending on if I have any difficult items to incorporate in the process. This is because I am a teacher making less than $85,000 per year. Also, it sounds like my wife won't need to be written in as income, because she's a Korean citizen and not working in the USA.

The Korean side will be new to me, and we've still got to check into that. I think the school has basically taken care of it, but I will still want to incorporate my credit card bills somehow to get some money back, I think.
