Just wondering about how to set it up from Korea. I bought one in Canada and set it up at my brother's house to his satellite receiver. What do I do from my end in Korea. I know I download some software from the slingbox website. How does the software know to get the stream from the slingbox at my brother's house. Do I need to input my brother's computer ip address or the slingbox id or serial number? Any info would be great. |

It appears you are making the very big assumption that setting up slingbox for remote viewing in Korea is somehow different than setting up a slingbox for remote viewing anywhere else. I suggest you follow the instructions I linked, which should answer the questions you have, and then if that doesn't work for some odd reason, ask someone who's done it in Korea.
To be honest, it really seems like you are trying to make this more difficult than it needs to be. |

I would just like some first hand knowledge about it from someone in Korea. I'm getting an error message that says I have to be on the same network as my brother in Canada. How do I do this? |

I bought it online and sent to family members in the U.S. and they've more or less spent the last six months unsure what to do with the thing to get it to work. Apparently they need certain connections on their end, before I can even try it over here on my end.
Anyways, this is my post, so I can watch this thread later as well |

I've found (in my family at least) family members know next to nothing about computers. If there's something they have to do (even click a button), it's just not going to happen. This is probably something that should be set up and working BEFORE you leave. |

For starters, google the error message. |
