Hi. Quick question, can anyone help?

I worked a stint at a public school for 7 months, finished the winter semester and left. I gave the school and the provincial board over 30 days' notice, the school was able to get a replacement for the new semester in March, and I left on a very friendly basis. I checked out fine, dropped off my forms for a pension-refund and said good-bye.

I won't get into why I left right now, but...if I got a new gig what should I do visa-wise? My current visa had no "re-entry" additions purchased, but it still has 4 months left on it. I have a "Departed" stamp on the opposite page alongside the original entry.

I've heard talk about visa cancellations and midnight runs (though I wouldn't classify myself as such) Do I have to cancel it or something to get a new visa?

It depends on whether or not they have cancelled your visa.

My PS contract states (under the resignation clause) "... and his/her visa shall be cancelled."

I gave up my ARC, too, BTW.

How do I if it's been cancelled. I'm in the States right now. Is there some way to check?

what is the number. I've tried online searches but it isn't as easy as plugging in "republic of korea immigration phone number"

This is a bit late...the number for the immigration english hotline is
1345 in korea. That's it...just four numbers
Not sure if it''' work where you live.

PS immigration rules seem to be interpreted differently in each district so
you have to get the hotline people to call the imm office which is in the area of your school
