So, I started learning how to cook the other week. It's been a long time since I've thoughtfully cooked food for myself and I must say it's paying off.

Anyway, I'm looking for TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein). I used to eat it in Canada a ton but can't say that I've seen it here. Is it available at Costco or anywhere else that you know of? Thanks.

Thanks. I know that area, I'll drag some of my veggie friends out there soon.

Haha, yeah. I've never been a big fan of the name.

Back home some of the farmers use to produce and distribute it locally. It's basically soy flakes, and when mixed with spaghetti sauce or put into a stir-fry dish with tofu, it comes to resemble hamburger in terms of it's texture.

I had a mini-campaign of introducing it to my carnivorous friends back in Canada as a healthy alternative to eating actual hamburger. It was mainly in reaction to my old room mate's habit of cooking huge portions of hamburger with barbeque sauce as his sole form of substinance. He never touched vegetables.

The poor guy gained like 80lbs in two years. I saw his picture recently and saw that he went from being skinny to being a big fatty. [/end tangent]

Only losers are vegetarians. What are you too good to eat a cow?
