I'm looking to switch from SMOE to less bureaucratic pastures in March/April, but I dont' want to get bogged down with a long work hours. I'm curious as to whether there's a minimum weekly work load that is required by law or is it up to the employer to decide? Thanks a bunch.

I've never heard of a minimum. I mean, some uni teachers on E-2 visas teach 9 hours a week.

To be considered full-time by the pension office to receive mandatory pension (and therefore qualify for severance, if you are paying into the national pension plan), the minimum is 80 hours /month.
