O.K. So maybe this post is directed at me, but I've cured myself. You see, back in the day - 1993 Cheju - kids would absolutely mall you. I'm talking about run up, kick, hit, scream in your face, all out accost kind of thing. These days we've never had it so good.
Can I here an Amen from the long timers here?
So, fast forward 15 years later and I'm back. The kids are 1000 times nicer, actually there's not even a scale big enough to weigh the difference.
So, at times I find myself suffering from post traumatic korean kids disorder.
But I've conquered it. We all need to remember that the reason that we all have our jobs is because of Korean kids.
So when you see a wee little one, small, say hi, practice a little English and make them happy.
That's what I do.
And it doesn't hurt to carry around a hand puppet named tigger to make them feel even more comfortable.
Have fun out there my fellow professional teachers.

I would never do that. Not even for a cookie.
I do however say HI etc.... |

I'll be deported if I let the puppet loose so I make sure to zip up tight. |

Not all of us. I haven't taught a kid in nearly a decade. |

Packing a hand puppet is a little creepy if you ask me.
Oh, and there's a difference between "here" and "hear." I just felt the need to point that out. |

I think kids love you as much as you love them. Some kids are hard to love others are easy. It depends. |

I don't currrently teach kiddies. Most of my time here has been spent teaching adults (college kids). But I say hi
when they say hi, etc. They're kids. You gotta respect/be nice to them. |

Yes, however . . . when I am ice skating badly at city hall in Seoul, it would be fantastic if the kids didn't stop right in front of me to show off their mad English skills. It seems to increase the pull of gravity.
As a newbie, I don't have much experience, but the vast majority of my interactions with Korean children so far have been positive. |

While we're pointing things out: how exactly does one "mall" someone? |
