Hey y'all,
I was a freelance journalist when I lived in New York a few years ago. Actually have a pretty strong resume... wrote for New York Press for several years. I'm kind of over the whole journalism thing, but I've come across a few concerts in Seoul I wouldn't mind reviewing. Not expecting to make much, but I'll do it for the free tickets that usually come with the assignment.
Anyone know how to get my foot in the door here? I know my writing's good enough for an English-printed newspaper in Korea. I've pitched The Korean Herald and Korean Times, but I haven't heard back. Anyone care to share advice or even contacts (PM me if you don't want to post them publicly).

i was a newspaper journalist back home working myself up to head editor of a 2.5 person newsroom for the only rag in town
parisny is a poster who works now as a journalist in Seoul for a news wire service, can't recall which, her being of Korean descent but having lived a long time in Paris and NY (hence her username)

| The best way is to try and get in touch with other foreigners who work at either of the two papers. They'll be able to put in a good word for you (which matters more than the quality of pitches/submissions you make). Don't get involved with The Seoul Times......... |

It's not a newspaper - it's an online advertising rag, seriously check it out^^ It's run by some shady folk and you'll never see a cent for any stories you submit/ publish..... |

How do you know you don't get paid for any stories published? |
