|
|
I'm not sure what to do here. I'm going to be in Thailand for 15 days, 7 of which are going to be spent in Koh Samui with friends.
Once they head back home, I'm going to still have another 8 days in Thailand.
not sure what i should do from that point. stay in Koh Samui or go somewhere else. I'm not sure if i should spend the whole 2 weeks in koh samui though.
I like to have fun so nightlife is nice , but i also like nice beaches, shopping and markets.
Budget isn't too much of a concern, any suggestions?
BTW: this will be my first time in Thailand so any comments are appreciated.
thanks. |

Take the boat to Koh Pagnon from Koh Samui. If partying is your thing then go to where they have the full moon parties.
If not go to the doc on the beach where they have the full moon parties and go by boat up to the next beach to a place called the Sanctuary.
Walk past the Sanctuary and get a hut on the beach. Food is awesome and cheap along this beach. I really like the restaurant on the hill there(on top of the rocks).
I think this beach is called Had tian. |

get the boat over to koh phangan, or even koh tao and go diving. its not far. 2 hours or so. easy from koh samui. daily boats.
loads of places to stay on phangan, try bottle beach - accessible only by boat. very chill. of course there are the full moon [parties and lots of stuff happening in the town. |

Yes, another recommendation for Koh Phangan. When your friends split head north 15 km to Koh Samui's sister island which is far superior. Spend a few days there, and then head north a little more and check out Koh Tao for a few days. |

Agree that Kho Pha Ngan is great.
If you want to see a whole different part of the country, go up to Chiang Mai and then to Pai. Pai is a beautiful place in the mountains, and you have plenty of time to get up there. Pai has a "rich bohemian atmosphere", and it is many traveller's favorite spot in Thailand. |
