My visa is an "s" for single entry. If i wanted the Multi-entry visa, I heard that all i have to do is go to the imi office and pay for it. is it really that easy? or are there hoops to jump through? I assume i just need my arc, cash and passport and they'll take care of the rest. |

Yes, it really is that easy.
You can also get a multiple entry stamp at the Incheon Airport before you leave the country.
I recommend getting it at the immigration office before your trip to be safe. |

No you can't! You can only get a single re-entry at an airport (W30,000).
To get a multiple re-entry you can apply online, or go to any Immi office with:
1. the application form;
2. your ARC;
3. your passport;
4. W50,000. |

The form will be at the immigration office. The process should only take five minutes at most once you hand over your passport, ARC, money and form to the Immigration official. The longest part will probably be waiting in line if you're in a bigger city like Seoul or Busan. Down here when I go to Yeosu immigration, I am almost always the only round eye within 5 kilometres of the place so it takes no time at all |

There is no reason that you are obligated to tell them. Nonetheless, this is Korea. They may or may not have a problem with it depending on their mindset. My director at my academy doesn't have a problem with it. I went to Thailand last month. I am heading to the states next week. You are not in jail here. You are free to move about as you wish on your time off. |

...Anybody know if on-the-spot single entries are available at the international ferry port in Busan. This is my last trip out of the country before I get a new visa, headed to Japan for a long weekend, and would rather skip going to my local immi office. Thanks! |

Excuse my ignorance--what is a multi-entry visa and why would a person need one? |

It would allow for people to leave the country and return. If you do not have a re-entry permit or a multiple entry visa, your visa would be no good after exiting the country. |
