Man Booked for Beating Scolding Female Senior
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2009/01/117_37862.html
By Kim Rahn
Staff Reporter

A male office worker was booked without physical detention Wednesday for violently attacking his female superior who was scolding him for reporting to work late.

The 25-year-old worker at a magazine company, identified as Lee, hit 29-year-old Ha, in the head with his hands and kicked her in the shin on the rooftop of the company building in southwestern Seoul around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Ha took Lee to the rooftop and criticized the new employee at the firm for habitually being late to work. She said she and other colleagues had to delay a meeting because he came in late that morning as well.

Lee told police that he hit his superior because he was angry and asked for leniency for his wrongdoing, police said.

What a wimp.

Coming to a PC Bang near you to play all day and netizen the world.

Although I wonder why she brought him to the rooftop. Maybe it was a convenient place to have a talk, but still, I'd personally be weary of someone taking me to a rooftop for a talk. Shocked

He should consider himself lucky that she took him some place private before scolding him. He doesn't know what being a professional means.

Chances are he still lives with mommy and daddy, so he'll be okay.

I wonder how much this relates to the fact that teachers hit/beat students at school. I see it almost every day at my high school.

Going to the roof may have been the only place that was private and where he wouldn't lose face in front of other Koreans.

How much do you want to bet he wouldn't have done this if his superior was a man?

I'm impressed the manager called him on this.

Maybe she was being a real bitch. It's not cool to smack someone upside the head, but the kick in the shin part is kind of cute.

Hello, Sean Connery, I didn't know you were on Dave's. I'm a huge fan of Thunderball and Goldfinger.

I agree, if women are being bitches they should be hit. Where do they get off being in a superior position.

Hopefully he gets fired and fined very heavily. It's not like she was a 21-year-old junior he could just slap around or anything.

She took him aside to scold him privately, as a manager should. Management should never scold or berate employees in front of the rest of the staff. It's bad enough being told off. Getting embarrassed like that in front of co-workers is worse. This is why I never work for people like Gordon Ramsay or Kevin Spacey's character in Swimming with Sharks. I've quit jobs with bosses like that.

I wondering if they would make the argument that because she was a woman it's okay okay okay. If it were a male superior, well, you can't do THAT, but a female superior? She was probably just getting uppity and letting all that power go to her head. Rolling Eyes

As sexist as this society may be I think it's still more ageist than sexist. But no, of course it's not as bad as if he had punched out his male boss four years his elder.
