So...who's the last Cylon?
Starbuck?
An Adama?
Les Prez?
Other?
Baltar?
Some semi-bit player like Dualla or Helo? Doc Coddle, perhaps?
I wonder if there are any bookies out there giving odds...If the show was popular in England, there certainly would be. They bet on the Queen's hat colour for chrissakes.
I bet it's Starbuck, though that'd seem kind of...I don't know...wrong? A cop-out? Would explain a couple things though.
The sure thing is, the writers got a lot of 'spainin to do, no matter what. Should be a busy few episodes.
Ah, here we go! Wired has done the odds for us. Here they are...
Aaron Kelly: 5-4
Diana "Hardball" Seelix: 33-20
Tom Zarek: 23-20
Anastasia Dualla: 4-5
Felix Gaeta: 3-2
Brendan "Hot Dog" Costanza: 2-1
Margaret "Racetrack" Edmondson: 9-4
The field (any other character): 2-7

I fear you're right bob.
Or maybe one of the half-breed kids--the bun in Sixes oven, maybe, that she made in jail with creepy old One-eye Tigh, or perhaps the Helo/ Athena whelp. |

That would've been better scenerio than the one that played out in the premier tonight.
Consider me disappointed. |

Consider you sucked in.
If that was a cylon planet, then there's more than 12 cylons.
The question in my mind is: Who nuked Earth? If it wasn't the cylons, was it the humans?
I always wondered about the cylons going off, making a huge fleet and cloning human models in 40years. It's more sensible to guess that there's another thing going on. |

I'm not disappointed. The latest episode revealed many things, and brought up many new questions. Who is Kara, more importantly, what is she? Also, the ending scene was very touching. My small theory: Everyone was going to die on Earth, and the final five Cylons that we've been 'led' to believe are somekind of prophets, are infact simply just five people who found a way to survive the end of the world. BSG has always led us to believe there is some hidden forces at work, which, while there may very well be - There's no reason to say that any of it is mythological at all, and that there is a scientific answer behind it all. |

That's an interesting idea. The war happened 2,000 years ago, we're told. Did the survivors (cylon skin jobs) go looking for Kobol, found the humans, and settled down among them?
According to the battlstar wiki:
Quote: |
The Thirteenth Tribe left Kobol and its sister tribes some 2,000 years before the remaining tribes left to form the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. |
Also about Kobol:
Quote: |
According to Colonial scriptures, humans lived on Kobol with their gods, the Lords of Kobol. An unspecified conflict between the gods, referred to as "one jealous god" that turned on his brethren, spurred the humans of the time to flee Kobol onboard the Galleon, a spaceship of unknown construction, in the face of "The Blaze" (assumed to be some sort of nuclear warfare). It was said that, for any who return, Kobol would exact a price paid in blood. |
That 2,000 year figure is also the figure given for when the war happened. There were 12 gods on kobol and lived with humans. There are 12 skin job cylons.
Quote: |
The Jealous God: Elosha states that the exodus from Kobol was precipitated when "one jealous god began to desire that he be elevated above all the other gods, and the war on Kobol began."[7] This figure may be related to or identical with "the one whose name cannot be spoken", whose temple is discovered in "The Eye of Jupiter". |
Mind fraks in this ep:
Earth seems to be inhabited by cylon skin jobs and toasters not of colonial origin.
Ellen is the only one who knew they would be reborn.
Starbuck is dead and she is apparently "risen".
That creepy skin job, the blond stalker guy Leoben or whatever, seemed terrified of Starbuck and even repulsed by her after finding her body. He had zero clue what happened and seemed lost for words.
Three of the final four seem to have known each other on earth but were unaware they would be reborn.
Apollo's former wife seemed really drawn to the locket etc she found on the planet and then blew her brains out. |

ok, im confused. if ellen is the final cylon (which explains why the "final cylon" didnt show up and meet the other 4, since she was dead), then what is starbuck? when they found her wreckage, i thought that meant SHE was the final cylon
and so woah skinjobs have been around for over 2000 years? are they the ancestors of the current skinjobs? do the "final five" live full life-cycles from natural birth to death, rather than being downloaded into a full-grown body in a tub of goo?
and duala. WHAT. THE. HELL? |

Ellen may or may not have known. How much of what Tigh saw is real isn't really determined as far as I can see.
Starbuck being dead isn't such a shocker. It was one of the most logical conclusions from Maelstrom, that and the pretty obvious hints dropped about her viper being 'fresh from the factory floor'. Somehow she was cloned or something. The ability to clone people and fake/share memories is demonstrated by at least one faction in the show, and is less of a stretch than many other explanations I could think of. More of a shocker for me was Leoben's reaction. I understand he said pretty clearly that he 'was wrong about her.' Interesting twist. She's had visions of some of these things for years, going back to the drawings of the eye in her APT in Caprica way back in season 2. Possibly she's a cylon, but not as we know it. Starbuck is the key to this somehow.
I didn't see it coming with Dualla. Even though we haven't seen her since Season 3, and a bit player getting a lot of screen time usually bodes ill for their survival (Crashdown, Cally, Kat, and now Dualla.) But I was expecting her to do something completely different. The director did a really good job of that scene. |

The president, there was a lot of imagery of her fussing over that plant. This is symbolic of something. But what?
Did Starbuck's return start the nuke war? She is the harbinger of death. The Leobin skin job quipped something like "the beacon has been on for a long time." 2,000 years? I dunno.
The Chief in his earth flashback is wearing glasses. Robots need glasses? In the background there were many different "models", none resembling the 12.
