I'm gonna play with Katydid. And see some of the sites that I'm supposed to have seen by now. Maybe a few museums. Anything, basically that will keep me out of clothing/shoe/bag/crap stores.

Let's stay away from the crap stores, yes. Smile

Would love to see the ever-mentioned Mango store though!

CLG and Pepperming, hope to see you sometime. Crawl out from under your rock, CLG! Razz Smile

Let's look at it as from the perspective of someone living in Gwangju, going to Mango IS a cultural experience! Wink

Eating a curry and drinking in Seoul. What any Brit should be doing. Only if they had half and half. Curry with rice and chips or fries for you Americans.

Considering I've only got 5 days of work left afterwards, I ain't sweatin' some busy-ass ganked up holiday where everyone all across Asia is going to be doing something. I'll just wait a week and have my run of the place.

What I want to know is...is there any cool cultural stuff goin' down for the holiday?

*sigh* My contract ends the day before Seollal, and I have to move into my new apartment in Seoul. And I do mean my own apartment, so I'm going to be on my own to furnish it and make it liveable. It's not going to be easy since it's going to be a national holiday, so I'll have to try to buy all the stuff I need ahead of time.

This is not going to be a fun holiday, but I will get to go to Osaka from Saturday until Tuesday for a combined visa run and vacation. I don't start work until the beginning of February.

Mrs. Syclick and I are going to visit an uncle of hers I've never met.

We'll also hit the ski slopes before the vacation is over.

After a long time in this country, most days are still cool and adventuresome in there own little ways. I would really prefer getting to really know a place inside and out, its seasons, smells, sounds, tastes, its intangible feelings and thoughts, it people; to internalize all this information and know it by heart, than to hop around getting only small doses of life elsewhere. This is only my opinion, and I am not trying to pass judgement, only give an answer.
