I agree. Though I don't think India will develop at a rate anywhere near the future rate of Chinese growth.

Actually, President Hu informed an assembly of American academics and students at Yale University on his last visit to the U.S. that if and when China becomes a democracy "it will not look like those in the West."

What the present leadership longs for is a Singaporean style government, but on a much broader scale, obviously.

It reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw on an old car the other day: "I may be slow, but I'm still ahead of you."

China may be poor, but they still loan us the money we don't have.
