I was just wondering if my American LCD I shipped over from the States will work here in Korea. I know I have to get a transformer for the voltage but I went to IPARK and they said that American LCD will not work here. Does anyone know if that is true?

If you already shipped it, why not try?

Do you mean LCD TV? What company made it?

I bet it'll work -- at least the analogue channels will.

It is on the way but itll be at least another month until I get the tv. It is a Samsung TV from the states, but I do not see any reason for it not to work?

Most of todays electronics are dual voltage. If not, go to an electronics computer parts market to find a transformer power supply that puts out your voltage need. They have the whole range of them and even the Korean made ones are dual voltage. I know, because the 1st trip to Korea I forgot my laptop power supply. I went to this place in Busan with many booths on 3 floors where you can get parts to repair and build PC's.

If you have a cable box and connect it with the TV via HDMI or RCA cables, then it will work. If you don't have a cable box, I think that Korea and America used different broadcasting systems, but are changing to use the same.

I recently bought an LCD TV here and was told that it will work in America, but I think I remember hearing in the past that TV's didn't work in both.

So basically, I have no idea. Sorry for wasting your time.

But, be sure to check the voltages.

My American LCD works. I do have to use a transformer since mine is not dual voltage.
