Note that the bones were identified as cylon according to cylon tests. Who is to say the frackers were telling the truth? If it turned out cylons killed the humans again, the rebel cylons are going to be totally fraked, right? They've got two enemies. |

I'm pretty sure it was both human and cylon tests that comfirmed they were cylon bones... |

No. The six says clearly "using our protocols". |

Mindmeto, that doesn't seem like BSG's style to trick the viewer in that manner (always they provide some clues when such a thing is happening, such as the Season 1 episode where Baltar possibly lied about Ellen's blood test results). Also, it's unlikely Starbuck had anything to do with the nuking of Earth. The skeletons discovered seemed much older than the rotting corpse of Starbuck. Damn, that episode was creepy. |

That was a fantastic episode. It seemed OBVIOUS to me that Dee realized she was a cylon and that is the reason she killed herself, because she couldn't live with that revelation. But then I went to the SCI-FI Channel message board last night to see what everyone was saying about the episode, and almost no one got that from the episode.
They gave all sorts of reasons she killed herself, but it seems obvious to me that finding the watch and jacks on the beach were a flashback from her previous life on Earth, like the other Cylons had. Before her death, she also referenced the picture of her as a child, and looked at a locket which looked like old photos of her parent. Also, after her death, Apollo says, "I will never know why she did it," but then he pulls those jacks out of the box again, emphasizing her central role in the episode. It seems very gimmick-y for the writers to spend so much of this important episode on her, a secondary character, only for a staged emotional effect. But maybe I'm all wrong. Did anyone else come away from the episode thinking she was a Cylon? |

I didn't get that, specifically, but I thought there was possibly something beyond just 'gets depressed and caps herself.'
It seemed to me that there was one of two things going on: one, a startlingly realistic portrayal of suicide as it really is--totally shocking and inexplicable, or two: an external, outside element, not yet clear to us viewers, made her do it. It reminded me of Boomer shooting Adama, like it was a big surprise to her too.
Yeah, maybe she had a Cylon flashback...thought they would have made it more specific though.
I'm going with a 'realistic, utterly confusing, and shocking suicide,' but I kinda hope there's more to it than that. |

The six says clearly "using our protocols".
and then baltar interrupts her to say that the results are conclusive, and then it is tigh (who still self-identifies as a human, even if he's not) is the one who makes the announcement that they are cylon bones. so by "our" she means "us science geeks" |

i saw nothing to indicate that dualla thought she was a cylon. she didnt have any kind of flashback like the others did, and anyway, we know the final cylon is ellen. the trinkets she found on the beach just brought home the horror of it all, and she couldnt cope. her suicide just underscored the extreme despair and hopelessness that everyone is feeling, from the lowest ranking grunts all the way up to roslin and the old man |

That's a pretty excellent analysis. |

it would be if he was right, but i dont think he is. the others had undisputable flashbacks. we were shown tigh's and the chief's flashbacks, we saw anders playing the watchtower song as we heard the notes, and tori directly referenced hers, though the audience never experienced it. for dualla, we only saw her picking up the trinkets, acting distressed, and then later we saw her picture of herself as a little girl. we never saw or heard a flashback, and she never directly referenced it.
not saying shes not a cylon, just saying that this episode was not evidence that she was |

Your interpretation. Mine is just as valid. The point ultimately is "our" can still refer to the cylons. And it can be an out. They may just be straight up lying.
Other thoughts:
Where is Adama going? He wanted to "go for a ride"?
And does the fleet know that they think the 13th tribe were all skin jobs? It sounded like this was being kept from them and they're led to believe they were just humans who died in a nuke war. |

huwhat? are you talking about when adama goes to the command room and asks for the nearest star system, and to get the cylon baseship on the horn and see if they want to come along for the ride?
as far as earth being full of skinjobs, yea, i imagine that that is something that wont be common knowledge right away |

Nice thinking, Gamecock. I did not see what you saw. But you make a strong case. Guess we shall have to wait and see... |
