Hey, I decided to take a visit to the gohyeon POW site over Lunar New Year. I'm currently in Masan and I was wondering if I can there via a direct route. Anyone know if I can I take a ferry from the Masan terminal directly there or can I take a bus there? If anyone has any advice for me please let me know. |

I'm not sure about a direct busline, but if you can catch a bus to Tongyeong you can easily transfer from there. |

the boats are very infrequent but they do go and get you right into gohyeon, and about a 15 min walk from the camp.
the bus is the easy option and they go regularly from gohyeon to masan so i'd imagine they are just as regular in the opposite direction.
when in gohyeon bus terminal, come out the fron door, turn right and take the next left walk up that street til you get to a cross roads, with a car park on the opposite side.
take the left at the cross roads, this will bring you up to another cross roads (you will see a mr pizza, dunkin donuts, baskin robbins etc on the cross roads) from the direction you came take the right at the cross roads (this goes up a big hill).
keep walking up the hill until you go past a car tyre changing place and when you get to the end of the road and the start of the main busy rad, take a left and keep walking in that direction (past the stadium) for about 3-4 mins and you will get there.
the camp is well worth the visit and I have been 3 times, if you had time i would also suggest taking a bus to jangseungpo (costs 1000won from te bus terminal and goes every few mins) and get a boat out to oedo island (not sure how the flowers look at this time of year but it really is a great place to visit) |
