Hi,

Just wondering if anyone of you fine people working for SMOE could answer some questions for me.

1.) The 21 paid vacation - is that 21 working days or 21 calendar days? The difference would be then either a three or four week vacation period.

2.) If you re-sign, do you get an aditional two weeks paid vacation as in EPIK?

3.) How much overtime can you earn each month on top of your basic salary and what do you do for this?

4.) On around 2 mil per month, as long as you have a sensible social life, how much can you expect to save in Seoul? Is 1 mil an unreasonable expectation?

Thanks
Ross

Hey,

I've signed on with smoe starting in march, my contract says;

1. "21 working days".

2. "Employee shall be given paid two weeks leave for a home visit which shall take place 2 calendar weeks.."

3. This depends on your school. Most schools have an after school programme or some chance for extra cash.

4. 1 Million is not unreasonable, it depends on how much you drink, western food you eat, what you buy and how much you travel.

First poster nailed the first 3, so I won't repeat.... 1 million is not unreasonable... You just can't go out every single night like so people do...

On 1.8 I send around a million home each month (damn student loans) and that let's me buy all the delicious Western food I need for the month, plus go out 2-3 times a week (20-30k each time I go out... If you wanted to though you could easly spend 5k to go out, or 100k++ to go out... Its really up to you)...

It all has to do with your lifestyle... If you want to save there will be nights you sit in your apartment watching TV, lol...
