|
|
My girlfriend recently received a letter in the post saying that on her first visit to Korea they reimbursed too much of the her pension and that she now owes them over 400000 won.
They say that our old boss (who was the quintessential evil hagwon owner) has phoned them to say that he made a mistake and declared the wrong amount on her pension form. However, we feel the more likely situation is that the tax/pension office has caught up with some of his schemes and now hes trying to wiggle out of it. When we worked there we were all paid in cash and were told to hide our schedules if anyone important was showing up. We were also aware of the fact that he was declaring our salaries as about 1.5 million a month so the money he would have to match for the pension scheme was greatly reduced. It is most like this last part that has come back to bite him but it and it seems inappropriate that she should have to foot the bill for his scheming. On phoning the pension office it would appear that he is now saying that he paid her a different amount to what he actually did.
has anyone else had a situation similar to this or know of anywhere where you can get some understandable advice on pension refunds. Would the Canadian consulate be able to help on matters like this? |

Pay to who, the pension office?
Listen to me very carefully. There is no letter. There was no job. These are not the droids you're looking for. Dealings with the pension office are not under your umbrella.
I also have a view of the mountains...I'm loving it. |
