I'm moving there shortly and can't seem to find much about the are except Lotte World is nearby. Is this a fun place, a fancy place, and awful place?... Share your experiences! |

Best things in Gwangjin-gu, IMHO, are:
Dongseoul bus terminal-- you can get anywhere in Korea pretty quickly on those intercity buses
Walker hill- foreigner only casino
Konkuk University area-- cheap drinking spots and cheap food, geared towards Uni students.
Hangang river park- for those rare nice days when you want to be outside.
That's about it-- all the 'foreigner' places are about 40mins-over 1 hour away by subway. |

A Gu is a big place and it depends where you are, but you can certainly do worse than Gwangjin-gu.
I used to live in Guui-dong in the middle of the 2, 5 and 7 lines and it was awesome. Kondae is a good area to go out, you are also close to Technomart and there are supermarkets there and at the Star City complex. It's a short trip across the river to Jamsil or Gangnam by taxi or subway, and you are close to nature with mountains and the river nearby. |
