I'm going to Japan on Friday and would like to know which will get me a better exchange rate, I'm too stupid to be able to work this out for myself.
Should I use the British Pound (straight from my bank which doesn't charge for withdrawal) or change my K Won to Yen before I go.
I know this may be a stupid blonde question to some, but I'm really confused!
100 = 12,869.50 Yen
100 = 197,725.97 Won
this is the bit where I don't know if I'm actually being retarded.
12,86.50 Yen = 197,856.91 Won
So the difference between spending Won and spending is only 130.94 KRW??? |

When traveling abroad, the best is to avoid money changers altogether and withdraw cash at an ATM at the airport once you arrive.
A lot of japanese ATM's won't let you withdraw with a foreign card, but the ones at the airport and inside any japanese post office are OK. Recently this has improved a lot: many ATM's in banks and convenience stores now accept them to. That's if you have an international card, of course.
Any way, the exchange rate sucks big time for anyone going to japan atm. |

Yes you are being a little dumb haha.
If the difference was big you could buy yen with your pounds, then buy won with your yen, then buy pounds with your won and make a profit. You could do that in circles and become a millionaire in a few hours.
Your were looking at it wrong.
You want to look to see how the pound and how the won are going to do in the future, and decide which you would rather have. I'd lean towards saving your won and spending your pounds since the pound is probably going to tank even more than it has already against other currencies.
Good luck figuring it out^^ |
