I'm sure if this was an event to bash something about America rather than celebrate something about it, you would have gotten dozens of posts instead of zero.

How predictable.

Obama celebration in Guam!

Right now I'm attending a "Countdown to Obama's Inauguration Party" at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort in Guam, USA!

Besides celebrating Obama's inauguration, it's nice to talk and get to know the locals here in this far-away too-often-forgotten American island.

The party is open to the public with free food, though drinks are a bit pricy.

The hotel has a free internet cafe which is where I'm writing this post from.

The Countdown Party has made the local press. Read about it here:

"Countdown to Obama's inauguration tomorrow"
http://www.guampdn.com/article/20090119/NEWS01/901190307

"Guam joins celebration of Obama inauguration"
http://guam.mvarietynews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3942:guam-joins-celebration-of-obama-inauguration&catid=1:guam-local-news&Itemid=2

Back during the Democratic primaries, Obama defeated Clinton in Guam by only 7 votes. Read about it here:

"Obama defeats Clinton in Guam caucuses by 7 votes"
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/03/guam.contest/index.html

The Sheraton is a very nice and fancy hotel, though not cheap.

Guam is a great place! I highly recommend you visit it.

If you visit Guam it's best to change your Korean money to American money before you come here. I'm suprised by how many money exchange places here don't exchange the won. Korea is Guam's #2 place for tourists. Japan is #1, by far. Yet so many places here don't exchange the won. Don't know what's up with that.

In just a few hours Barack Obama will be the president of the United States of America!

Yahoooooooooooo!

Cool
