|
|
I have a flight from Incheon next week in the evening, and I'm wondering what the best way to get to the airport will be? I will have two huge bags (I'm going home for a month), and so if possible, I would like to avoid the subway, unless I can manage to get there from somewhere in downtown Seoul (I can take a cab to the nearest convenient station) with only one, maaaaybe two transfers. I unfortunately cannot afford the 70,000 or so that a cab would cost.
Are there buses that would take me there? If so, where can I pick them up? |

if anything, Koreans have made it very easy for foreigners to LEAVE.
there are airport buses running every 20 minutes from any number of locations in Seoul. have a Korean help find the nearest one for you via the Internet. |

I would do that, except I do not live in Seoul - I am here on vacation - and so I do not have easy access to that kind of help, hence why I am asking on this forum. |

Where in Seoul are you?
fruitcake was very straight-forward as he could have been. Express bus is the fastest way to get there. Sometimes they have the name "Incheon Airport written on the bus.
What gives you the right to respond like that, anyway? Are you alone in a hut on the side of a mountain? |

I'll be going from Insadong to Incheon.
He was straightforward, but not terribly helpful. All he told me was that some buses run. Do you think my preliminary search of google didn't yield such information? I know there are buses - I just don't know where to look for them, etc.
Respond like what? I was not being sarcastic - merely stating that I am asking for help on this forum because I do not have easy access to a Korean who can sit with me at my computer and help me out with this stuff. I normally live in a tiny rural town about 6 hours south of Seoul, and this is only the third time I've been here - and only the first time I've been here for more than 2 days. So, I don't know anyone in town, foreign or Korean. |

OP, your original post wasn't very helpful. Downtown Seoul is pretty general and you should have been more specific. Fruitcake was helpful, this website is for expat teachers in Korea and unless stated otherwise, why wouldn't he assume that you are here any vacation. When you did a preliminary search on google, what exactly did you type in? I typed in "incheon airport bus" and this was the 1st link. http://www.lifeinkorea.com/travel2/iabie.cfm
It shows all the buses and their routes, so you could find the bus stop there. There doesn't seem to be a bus stop for Insadong, however there are a couple for City Hall and Seoul stations. My advice would be, go to Seoul station (only 2 stops from Jonggak) and ask the tourist information booth where the bus stop for the airport is. (The tourist information booth is in the TRAIN station, NOT the subway station). |

Any international hotel has a KAL bus running to the airport. Just stop in there and talk to a bell hop. |

There are Airport Bus stops at Anguk subway station and another one in front of the Duty Free building (across from Post Office building) at Kwanghwamun subway station. |

There is also a stop by Jongro 3-ga stop at the other end of insadong. Cant remember the exit number but it is across the street from exit 15. On the same side as the park at the south end of insadong. |

I said that I am in downtown and could easily take a cab to anywhere in the general central area.
I did find that link, and while it was helpful, it was only vaguely so. It lists the stops, but doesn't really give much info as to, say, which part of those areas the stop is in. For instance, there's a Jongno-3 stop, but...which exist? There are several, and they are pretty spread out. |

Thanks a bunch! That seems like my best option. |
