9. Finally I find them "unaware". Hard to describe exactly what I mean, but I notice this in North America too. They are oblivious of the world or so it seems. Living in a homogeneous society perhaps causes them to be culturally unaware and insensitive. |
Americans are unaware too. Very, very unaware.
This gripe in particular is a common one amongst expats, especially those who just graduated from their liberal arts/humanities/social sciences program. You've spent the past 4 years wagging your tongue about social problems and historical injustices over lattes with similar minded middle-class Americans. You cannot expect the rest of the world to be this emotionally invested in social problems--nor will you be, in time.
I know that sounds very pompous, condescending, and rude, but it's something I wish I could've told myself seven years ago. Would've saved me a lot of hardship. |

There's an excellent book called The Asian Mystique. I highly recommend reading it. It puts to rest stereotypes, and goes one step further to actually addressing why they exist in the first place. It's written by Sheridan Prasso. I wish I could recommend it on so many of the threads I read here. |

1. I admire their respect of things.
Asians respect things. How profound. |

that's the problem with appearing to be talking about individuals rather than cultures
the thread title should read "Asian peoples" and be framed in terms of the predominant cultural values
OF COURSE there is some deviation, but cultural values are widely held and reflective within a community of people |

I disagree with the op on the following:

They cannot drive cars well. |
They are quite skilled, actually, just very reckless. The same driver who can parallel park better than a driving instructor also swerves into the oncoming lane even though a corner is coming. And by they I don't mean Asians (because the Japanese don't apply) I mean: Koreans and the Vietnamese.

They have more style than westerners. They dress better and kick our butts on this issue. |
Absolutely not. Sure, the clothes are more dressy, less casual but their style is derivative, bits and pieces of style taken from "our" butts (I assume you mean, the West, or Europe or America or the like). The definition of good style has never been wearing knock-offs and being truly conservative with patterns and colours (except for the gaudy awful ajumma bright colour matching).
And how about those shiny suits. Europe, America and the British colonies have nothing to learn about fashion from the style of dress of men around here!
(That said, some of the really old guys in this country dress pretty cool, like members of the rat pack, fashionable for their age.)

They are healthier |
No. The smoking, drinking, malnutrition, stress, lack of sleep, shared eating habits makes for a nation of rampant hepatitis, stomach viruses and cancers. They don't even live as long.
They weigh less on average. So one can say they 'look healthier' and around here appearances are everything. |

Arab people also refer to themselves as "Asian."
And so do people from India.
And Jewish people did too, but stopped after WWII. |

Do they have narrow eyes and trouble differentiating between R and L? Then they're not Asian. |

I find different Asian groups to be far more diverse than different European groups. Your generalisations look simply ridiculous. |
