To save money, I have decided to stay in Korea for Lunar New Years this year. I would like to visit a few touristy places around Seoul while I am off work as well as sow a few new friends around the city.

Any good ideas of places to see that will be open? Also, any suggestions for some nice hotels in Seoul that arn't too expensive and maybe have something cool, like a jacuzzi. I'm in Bundang and not too familiar with most of Seoul outside of Itaewon.

Thanks in advance!

I have never stayed there myself (they were too busy the couple times I tried) but the Hotel Tomgi - very near the cultural tourist attractions in and around Insa-dong - is probably a good choice.

Their jacuzzi rooms run around 100,000 won, I think. Here's a link to the Lonely Planet review of it...

I personally stay at a clean, well-equipped (jacuzzi, computer, big-screen TV/DVD player, water dispenser...) "love motel" in that general area - near Topkol (Pagoda) park - that's about half the price, but it's a little harder to find, and the surroundings look a bit sleazy. The name of that place is "Golden Motel", and nearby - for 10 or 20 thousand won more - is the Sky Hotel, which is also well-equipped and is larger...

If you have a credit card check for special internet rates on major hotels at a site like this one I've used (there seems to be some good deals listed ) http://www.asiarooms.com/south_korea/seoul.html?gclid=CP-7xp_2nJgCFRJKbwodRVjwmA

How much for a hotel with two single beds? I guess love motels just have one big bed.
