Did you catch the WTF look Obama gave to Roberts during the oath of office ceremony? Roberts blatently misplaced the word "faithfully", and so Obama just looks at him like....WTF?!!!???? I think Roberts was getting back at Obama for voting against his confirmation. Unbelievable!

I think both were nervous. No big deal.

Ya-ta is right about this. I'm sure that there will be corners of the net with extremists going on about how this makes Obama not the prez etc.

Not only that, but Roberts repeatedly combines two phrases into one. He began..."I, Barack Obama"...and then Obama starts to repeat it but gets interrupted by Roberts, who maliciously continues, talking OVER Obama, "do solemnly swear". Those two phrases are said seperately. Any 5 year old can tell you that. Then he misplaces "faithfully". Then, at the end, he again combines two phrases into one;"...and to preserve, protect and defend," STOP; "...the constitution of the United States."
Nervousness? I think not.

This represents a non-issue. Utter nonsense. Two separate threads on this now. You people are in withdrawal now that W. Bush is gone. You only know how to find fault, ridicule, etc. You know no other way to discuss the presidency in America without smirking about it.

It's called a discussion. Obviously, you have nothing to add. Everything I said is a fact of the matter.

This crap is why lawyers get a bad name (and journalists, too).

No Obama should not retake the oath. The 20th Amendment says nothing about the oath of office. Sec. 1 Clause 8 of Article II is not null b/c 'faithfully' was put in a different place.

Lawyers: risk-adverse beyond all reason.

He has retaken the oath, I guess we can all move on now.

Interesting that this has actually happened twice before.

"Two other previous presidents have repeated the oath because of similar issues, Calvin Coolidge and Chester A. Arthur."

He re-took the oath and it looks like no bible was present. He should have just used the Koran like he wanted to all along.

What in the hell are you talking about? Don't be idiotic, it's unbecoming, even of a liberal. Obama screwed up first [see my thread on this very point].

It's proof that Obama was in on it.
