Does anyone know how long it takes to hear from GEPIK about your final approval and school information for your VISA? My information was received over a week ago, but I realize that may not be a lot of time for Korea. My biggest concern is just having an idea of when to put in notice at my current job. I sent an e-mail, but got an automated response about them contacting me in DECEMBER if they have any questions, so I'm guessing it's not checked often. If anyone can help, that would be coral.

Sometimes it takes a very very long time, sometimes not. I had to literally threaten my recruiter cause it was taking longer than a month and I had quit my job. It was because the office was understaffed. That had nothing to do with me I was supposed to arrive August 15 and did not arrive till Oct 1 Good Luck. Keep calling.

If you want to teach elementary, you can get a job quickly, at least that was while Wenise Kim still worked there.

Many other teachers and schools has told me that GEPIK is not interested in helping anymore. Some new teachers get help occaisionally but it's no where near what it used to be (which wasn't great to begin with).

GEPIK is pushing recruiters. So, get a recruiter as GEPIK obviously doesn't want to help connect teachers and schools anymore.

If you haven't been offered a job within a couple of weeks through a recruiter, find someone else as that recruiter probably doesn't have very many contacts.

You should have signed a contract through a good recruiter within a month or so.

No, I've sent the contract and all. I'm just waiting to hear about the name of my school and the information to complete my VISA application. I keep telling my job I will be leaving soon, but I want to give them a definite time. Plus, I think they believe I'm lying since I'm still here Very Happy

Dude I told you in the above post make your recruiter get on them. Tell him what you said on here but in a harsh way. Thats is the only way I left when I did. I may still be home if I did not threaten to come to his house and rob him cause I was getting broke just sitting at home. Dont necessarily go that route but you have your own way of getting a point across. Or call whoever your contact is 3 times a day bug them trust me it works.

They want teachers but don't contact us about our applications at Gepik.

We do have to give notice to jobs and landlords - get tickets and make arrangements. Have a work visa ready.

Then they call us the day before (another job another country) and want us to come over with 48 hours notice.

Now would they do that? Come over here without a work visa and 48 hours notice?

I have sent him e-mails, but he keep saying I will know before them because I will get the acceptance letter first. Still, I'm getting a bit antsy, so I guess it is time to bombard. I'm still at my job, so I'm not horribly worried, but I just want to know if everything was accepted or not.
