I met Steven Hawking in Glasgow, Scotland. My sister married his son, Robert. They are now divorced but it was nice to talk to him. Good sense of humour I recall. |

Bjork - putting up promotions in the venue for her show in Minneapolis, and she came early.
Kurt Cobain, his wife, and Francis Bean: Tower Records in Seattle...he was shifting through the local records sectionf.
Glenn Close, Richard Dreyfus, and Gene Hackman: Saw them in a broadway show, and hung around after the show....watched Glenn Close dart to a cab, and Dreyfus talked to us out front for awhile until his driver showed up. Hackman just walked into the Manhattan crowd and disappeared among it.
I lived in NYC for 2 1/2 years and saw all kinds...many of them I know their faces, but don't know their names offhand...there is one very popular one - Latin Music Singer, but I always forget her name...she was promoting and in NYC walking down the street with bodyguards and cameras...and the whole thing came up from behind me as I was walking down the street..so many others I've spotted randomly, but again, know the faces, not the names. I've never been good with celebrity gossip or names anyways. |

| I met Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins in Kimpo Airport. The whole band were just sitting on the floor in front of duty free. I shook his hand and lied and said I was at the concert the night before. |

Never understood the whole celebrity worship thing... personally couldn't give a crap who somebody is..
Having said that, i had Wendell Sailor (brisbane broncos fame) and a another player... dunno his name, I'm not into football, in my taxi one night driving a cab during my postgrad student days.
without a doubt the two most obnoxious assholes (especially wendell) ever to enter my car... |

I was amused when I was at an airport waiting for the monorail to go to the terminal and I turned and saw Ron Jeremy standing alone. Then I looked at everyone else at the terminal, and all of the guys kept doing double takes and subduing their reactions, as if they were thinking "OMG that's Ron Jeremy but I can't acknowledge in public that I know who he is!"

Should I be concerned that I don't know who a lot of these people are?
I would, however, gladly pay $20 to see a show by some weird art-noise band called

David Lange twice- super nice guy
Peter Blake belonged to the same yacht club as me, but each time I met him I was a bit over-awed to have anything sensible to say. I was 20 on a yoof development racing programme, he had just won every single leg of the Whitbred round the world race. He shouted us beers every now and again, 'cos he knew we were all on the bones of our arse. Sweet dude. I cried when he was murdered.
Anton Oliver (up close the dude looks like he carved outta rock!) and a buncha other All Blacks. NZ is a small place- most celebs are pretty easy to meet if thats yr buzz. |

Yep, football and rugby guys tend to be assholes. I worked in a cafe in a gym that the Hurricanes (and all blacks) trained at. Golden rule - anyone with dreads is lovely, shaven heads = assholes. Jonah Lomu held the door open for me in his early days (nice guy, seemed overwhelmed by his fame).
Musically.. had a smoke with Evan Dando and the MC5. (Evan went home with the Mayor's daughter later that night )
Said 'hallo' to Meg White after the White Stripes played a gig to 20 people before they were famous.
Met the Kills, the woman was pretty cold, but the guy was nice.
Damo Suzuki who was really cool.
Snuck backstage and rambled on to the guys from Wire about how much I loved their music.
Met the Misfits after their show and they were really good to their fans.
I met Robert Muldoon when I was five! he scared me.
My sister interviewed Peter Jackson just after he made 'Bad Taste' (he went her school). |

Steve Nash = awesome guy, same height as me and he didn't seem to mind me being shitcanned and in the locker room telling him how awesome he was and that he was my new idol
Micheal Finley - at the Mavs game when they were both there.
Don Nelson - He is actually kind of my step-uncle I guess you could say. His wife is my mom's half-sister. Therefore I get to go to the locker-room and drink beer
Chris Mullen - Don't worry, I hid my beer from him
Chris Bradley - I shook his giant banana hand as he was kidding Mullin about giving him the bald spot with his elbow in the post!
And Jean-Claude Van Damme at the set of UNIVERSAL SOLDIER he put his arm on my shoulder and it was like a piece of freakin steel.
then my brother stood behind Dolph Lundgren to get water. That guy is a giant!
speakin of giants, met K1 fighter and recent movie star, Sammy Schultz in Insadong a couple of weeks ago. I'd like to see those two square off actually. any predictions? |

Went to Top Gun in California about five years ago and Danny Glover was next to me in gray t-shirt, jeans and sneakers and just said hello as we stood there and listened to the band....
dealt blackjack at Binion's Horseshoe during 2 yrs of undergrad at UNLV and dealt to Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman at a private table..and then the gal that plays Peg Bundy joined them...
My son was one of the Mikey's on the Life cereal box when he was five and he did a walking part on Magnum PI...so met Tom Selleck and his cast..
Lived in England as a little girl and when we moved back to the states my parents took my sister and I to meet the Beatles when they were on a talk show. Have every record they ever made..I really thought that was something then. |
