Has anyone here been to Dae Dun (San?)
I bought a neat postcard with a picture of a hell scary swing bridge 'tween 2 rock spires, just cos I liked the picture, but now methinks it might be a neat mission for solal.
Problem is, I've never heard of the place!
I've got a car, and the Mon/Tues off so getting there isn't an issue.
Any 1st hand advice would be great-cheers. |

You need to go to Tae-jeon first. Dae-jon? Crazy spellings these days. Anyway, it's about an hour on bus from there. You can just go to the bus station and get a ticket and it will take you right there. It was neat!

I went to Daedunsan and it was good times all around. The only mistake I made was going on a national holiday and it wasn't exactly the "wilderness." I think the Lonely Planet has some good info on logistics. To get to any major hiking place all you basically have to do is figure out what the nearest major town is, get to the bus station there and then they will always have direct buses right to the mountain. |

If you're driving, the mountain is quite close to Guemsan, a town of 70,000 people, its where most of Korea's Ginseng is grown,

Funny I lived 20kms from the mountain for a year, but never climbed it,
Its a beautiful area though, I'd highly recomend it, |
