I'm at work right now, sitting down as the students (2 in total) do a written exercise.

I get a good sleep at night but during this winter camp I've felt quite tired.

I don't know if it's the stress of the last year with my nightmare of a co-teacher or if I just need a rest from teaching.

Maybe I need a rest from teaching at this school, or perhaps I am tired of my own tedious posts on this forum. Laughing

I exercise regularly and eat healthily. I don't drink, smoke, party etc.

The cold weather may be a factor. It's nice and warm in class which helps me feel sleepy.

Do you feel tired at work?

Its the weather mate along with the lack of running around we do during this time of year.

Mind you - it is warming up nicely about time too - the other week I was freezing my ass of and it was no fun! Evil or Very Mad

It could be your diet. When I start to feel bushed, I eliminate the energy drainers. Some foods will sneak up on you and lower your overall energy level. Sometimes I also do a 'tuna fish and cracker' diet for a day or two coupled with plenty of water to 'cleanse the unclean'.

Typical diet:

Breakfast: 4 slices of toast with butter, some marmalade and maxim coffee with a couple of teaspoons of sugar, 4 times a week.

Frosties cereal with semi-skimmed milk, 3 times a week.

Lunch: 2 Sandwiches. Consist of cheese, cucumber, tomatoes. A chocolate/sweet biscuit for dessert and around 10 grapes too. I drink some water with it.

On Saturday afternoon, I eat half of a pizza, I drink orange juice with it.

I eat out on Sunday, Chicken curry with 2 plain rotis (bread). I drink water with it. No dessert, no grapes etc.

Dinner: Chicken Biryani with 4 slices of bread, 4 times a week. I eat salad with that, some cucumber and tomatoes. I eat 10 grapes and then some chocolate/sweet stuff for desert, just a little more than the portion I eat for lunch i.e. 3 cookies.

I also eat 2 boiled eggs with 4 slices of buttered toast, twice a week.

I eat the other half of the pizza, on Sunday evening.

I drink apple juice/orange juice with my dinner and then finish it off with maxim moca coffee with 2 teaspoons of sugar. I also eat a dessert i.e. cookies/biscuit/chocolate a bit bigger than the lunch serving and 10 grapes after each dinner.

Most afternoons I chew some polo mints.

I never snack, just eat 3 meals. Rarely, when I feel hungry in the evening I will eat some more grapes.

I walk quite fast for 30 minutes, 4 times a week. I sleep for at least 7 hours every night.

Do this:
-Increase the amount and diversity of your fruit and veggie intake. I know, I know, this might cost a bit more, but will increase your energy level. Go for variety of colors.
-Reduce your bread intake by a third, unless it's whole grain (which it's not because you're in Korea)
-If you tlke it, eat SamGyeTang (Chicken soup w/ herbs, spice, and jujube), which has some therapeutic value against cold weather malaise, but is not the end-all therapy as most Koreans believe.
-Increase your nightly sleep by 1-2 hours, and don't nap during the day unless absolutely necessary.

May we suggest driking, smoking and going to a party? And, hey, as long as you're at it, throw in a cup or two of coffee a day.

Well I do drink, non-alcoholic drinks. If you read my diet info you'll see I have coffee once or twice a day.

Thank you for the advice. But I need something solid like bread otherwise I'll feel hungry after the meal.

I've recently increased my fruit and veg intake so I agree there. I think 8 hours maximum is enough for sleep, more than that gives me a headache.

I don't nap during the day, but feel sleepy for a short while after lunch.

Since we're posting diets, I'll post mine.... granted I'm trying to lose weight and I go on and off of it, but for the most part my diet is this.

Breakfast: 1 slice of toast with 1 teaspoon peanutbutter, 1 banana.

Lunch: 2 kimbab, kimchi

Dinner: Either one of the following: 1 chicken breast with mushrooms and onions
1 can of large tuna on 2 pieces of bread
Some prefab. spaghetti that I buy.

Sometimes I fall off and snack though.... the usual junkfood I've had all my life.

Your breakfasts seem like crap to me. Toast and jam, sugary cereals, replace that with something decent and non-sugary and you'll be doing yourself a big favor. Fruit and low sugar intake in the morning would probably make a big difference for you in about two-three weeks.

I use marmalade/jam on the toast, but just enough to taste it. You need some enjoyment in the first meal of the day.

You're right, frosties contain sugar, but I have them only 3 times a week.

During regular class I am fine, but during winter camp I spend the afternoon doing nothing, I feel more tired than when I actually do something.

Fruit for breakfast isn't very substantial. I need something solid.

Maybe it is psychological. Laughing

Are you seeing the same kids all day, everyday? If so, that might be it.

Diet could be it. Looks like the OP is taking in massive amounts of complex proteins with huge amounts of carbs. Not good unless you're hitting the gym for 2 hours a day or under the age of 25 and playing sports competitively!
