Who did he cheat off of? Or were his projects just fudged? Just wait a few weeks or months before it's taken back in disgrace over something like that.

I think I'll wait for the actual prize to be given before I chime in with my 28 won.

Rolling Eyes

he's an academic researcher and professor at an American university in NY State.

obviously, he lives there, not in Korea. The grant money he is using for research is from the American government.

yet Korea is so freakin' DESPERATE* they will claim his very soul if, indeed, he is awarded a Nobel prize. Rolling Eyes

I'm wondering if he's even aware of this article? Shocked

*kinda like the girl who claims she's pregnant so the guy will marry her

If he's a mass murderer or rapist, then he's American.
If he's a football star or famous celebrity then he's Korean.

Same old crap from Uri Nara.

sorry for the rant - jees - this just totally irks me - the Nobel is an honorable award meant to bring respect and recognition to the person who receives it - and obviously their team, where applicable.

once more, this scientist is NOT in K and is NOT doing research for the country of K therefore why on earth does this journalist, or the Chosun Ilbo, imagine in their wildest, wettest dreams that they are allowed to claim any kind of benefit whatsoever if this person, does, indeed, receive the Nobel???????

Simply because South Koreans are so insecure and so desperate to be noticed by the world that they will trumpet any success by anything even remotely related to the most pure blooded, most intelligent, genetically superior Koreans.

i think this kind of makes him korean, right????

But would he be even considered if he wasn't given multiple years of financial support and the use of highly sophisticated equipment that is not even available in Korea.

Let Korea have the credit for any potential prize- I'm sure the US would be quite happy owning the research and patent rights.
