I'm not sure about this exact weekend but if there snow to be found in Korea it will usually be in Gangwon-do. This is the province where all the ski resorts are and you will have to fight with the tourist crowd all making their way there over the holiday weekend. Good luck. |

Looking at the weather forecasts for the next five days pretty much everywhere is expected to have some snow bar Daegu, Busan and South Gyeongsang. Jeolla and Gangwon-do are expected to get the most. |

Awesome, thanks for the tip. Where can I find the Korean weather by region in english friendly format? I'd love to see Gyeongju in snow!

The KMA website probably has the best English language weather details. It's a bummer they don't translate more as their Korean site has a whole host of details.
Unfortunately, it seems Gyeongju is one of the few places not expecting snow over the next few days, it'll be below zero pretty much the whole time but fine and sunny. Though, the weather forecasts are fairly unpredictable and it could be worth it going there as they may get some snow at some stage.

Hyuk, I like how they put Dokdo on those maps even though there's no weather information and the island (rock) is pictured way too close for scale. |

both the BBC website and Yahoo provide satellite data including K. just punch in the name of the country and go from there.
they also provide forecasts and temps in F or C - I find the BBC to be more accurate than Yahoo. the BBC also updates several times a date.
oh here's the BBC link
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day_f.shtml?world=0086
was -11 C this morning at 3 a.m. brrr |

yeah, seven winters here in south gyeongsang and i've seen snow on the ground a grand total of once
yesterday morning i awoke to a thick swirl of flakes in the wind and thought wow it looks like it's actually gonna make the ground white, but it didn't, i stepping outside into a wind with no bite, the air temp about 3 or 4 C, not a snowball's chance of hitting the ground as anything but water
nearby Jeollanamdo gets buckets of snow each winter, even Jeju down off the southwest,... but here in the southeasternmost, only pockets of places, like Jinju and Daegu seem to ever get any snow |

Are you in Seoul? When you say even covered with snow, do you mean that it usually clears up during the day? Is it a light snow? |

Yeah, I'm northeast of the Han river.
Blanket of snow, cars are driving slowly, taxis aren't even honking their horns - that's a first. |

Snow on the ground, icicles on the balcony banister. It's noonish and doesn't appear to be melting. Think I'll wait for tomorrow to go anywhere. |
