I want to buy a new Mac, but first I want to get a feel for how much I might get for my old computer.

It's a Powerbook G4 1ghz with 768mb ram and an 80gb harddrive, running OS X Panther. It's covered in stickers and the battery lasts about 10 minutes these days, and it's only got USB 1.0, but the screen is unblemished and all the keys and everything work fine. No glitches, lots of software. Anybody interested? How much you wanna give me for it?

UPDATE: Here are some photos ~

It's the 12 inch model. The RAM and harddrive have been upgraded, and other than stickers, some scratches from almost 5 years of use, and the worthless battery, everything's fine, albeit pretty slow. It's fine for internet and even some patient photoshop work though; I use it for editing 10megapixel images all the time. Anybody got more than 100,000?

Jesus god I would absolutely love a 12" PowerBook. I had the 17" until early last year when I got a black MacBook. My brother picked up a 12".

I seriously don't think Apple has created anything that will quite match the 12" PowerBook. Sure it's got the G4 processor which is a bit slow compared to the Intel chips, but my god, for everyday word processing, web browsing, and even light Photoshop, this computer is ideal.

I wish I could have it for 100,000, but I would honestly feel awful for taking such an incredible machine from OP for such a price.

OP I wish you the best. Dammit I would kill for that machine. No I really wouldn't. But I would freakin love it.

OMG, OMG OMG, OH MY GOD, I have never see this "thing" before, cuz I alive in a cave and use tools made of bones and stones. Guess what? I live in stone age and here just saw this strange 4 sided thing in which you can see strange letters from some future language, and people tell me it has damn ONE GIGA HRZ PROCESSOR (I dont know what it is but People say it is something amazing).. Surely it has something to do with future advancement of cavemen.

OH, hey !!! now I am back to the future and here goes the 1 gig machine getting trashed in the name of Multi-core Hyper-machines. Man, I hate this age, I should get back to that stone age when I used to be amazed at 1gig super-duper-duper alien machines called Apple's PowerBook.

Man you're a moron. At the time, a 1GHz PPCG4 was beating a 1.4GHz Pentium. It's not about calculations per second, it's about what those calculations do.

And to say I don't know what I'm talking about is an insult. I've been following computers since I was about 10 years old.

All I was saying is that the 12" PowerBook is a phenomenal machine if you're looking for something simple like word processing and browsing the web.

Anyway OP, ignore this mental midget, and good luck on your sale.

The 12" MBP was an awesome laptop for it's time and as has been stated, it's still a nice machine that's more powerful then a netbook but still rather diminutive.

OK, maybe I stretched my friendly and humorous sarcasm to bit extreme.
I was using Euphemism to describe how do a very few years become part of very old history in such an age of fast paced tech advancement. However, I guess people here are too simple-minded.

OK, here it goes for further clarification:
I specifically switched to a 933 MHz laptop to post this message, to show solidarity to the sellers of low-specs PCs and Laptops. Now I hope you people don't find me some rich paranoid guy from hell, would you?
