Yeah, I always wondered what the big deal was and then I saw a pair last week actually....over 600,000 won... Shocked Why bother. I'd rather get a plane ticket somewhere warm for that money. No one is gonna notice the make of your jeans anyhow.

If ya really need them, buy them at home and bring 'em along.

Try them on instore...look at the name of the jeans...go online, buy it from a site in the states, and then have a friend ship it to you...although exchange rates suck right now it's probal still cheaper than buying in korea.

Does anyone know of a good place to buy nice jeans in the Seoul area? I'm a guy of average dimensions. Just looking for a recommendation.

I haven't lived here long but I've seen designer jeans like True Religion, Hudson, Sevens, and so on at all the dept stores. The are double in price. I also saw some at a boutique in Sinchon.

I would have clothes either mailed to you or pick them up when visiting the States. You coudl also plan a holiday to Hawaii and get things u need while there.

I hate to waste money so I am not buying anything here that is double in price as compared to US goods.

Went to Levis.com and took advantage of their sale, picked up two pair for 90 bucks - had a friend ship them over to me - I wear a 34x32 and that size is hard to come by so if you are more largeee than you might be SOL.

I forgot....Guess has a premium brand of jeans and they sell for low prices in the yongsan ipark mall which has a small outlet section near the train station entrance. Guess has a store there...premium guess jeans were going for $75 and up...selection was a bit limited but neverthless some good deals when sales are going on.

I just wanted to note that the Evisu jeans sold in Korea are not "real" Evisu jeans. I think a Korean company must have licensed the brand and image.

I went to two Evisu outlets here in Korea and was thrilled to see Evisu jeans selling at the prices they were at. Unfortunately, they are not worth it since they are only similar in name and style.

I did that last year (3 pairs of the really good ones that are made in the USA, although they were a bit more than the average ones they sell that are made overseas) - however, I hate to break this to you, but if you went to DOOTAH building in Dongdaemun B2 (or B1) can't remember, you would find your size in the import area for about the same price if I remember correctly. They don't have 34X34 - but they've got plenty of 34X32.

You will find that this is how most things are made and sold in Korea- licensed.

Cool Man, thanks for the heads up - I wear 539's so they might be a little harder to come by, but it could come in handy in an emergency.
