I'd be surpised if he get more than 2 cents ... Even if he was my buddy I wouldn't help him out. Do the crime , do the time. He's lucky he had a full ten years to work here. |

I don't know anything about his case, so I won't comment on whether or not he's guilty or innocent, or make any asides about his character, which I find to be completely unwarranted without a full disclosure of facts. What I would like to say is that with what appears to be the baggage that is in his background, I can't imagine that he will have any easy time making an argument that he should be reinstated or even allowed back in South Korea. I'm actually shocked he's successfully teaching in another Asian country right now (or the article may have just said he's in another Asian country, so I might be doing what I said I wouldn't do and making inferences based on what I think is happening rather than what really is). |

Why is he asking for donations? You`d think 10 years of being gyo su would have netted him some sort of coin by now. I`m thinking someone probably ratted him out to the authorities or he drank too much and incriminated himself to a coworker. |
There are free legal aid organizations in the USA. |
Pro bono deserves to go to someone more deserving. |
His conviction was expunged. I'd withold judgement until I know why. If I cared more I'd go find out. |

Given the context of his previous charges some of the pics he has in his photo section take on a distinct air of creepiness. Yikes. |

That's neither here or there (although one could point that he WAS convicted and therefore anyone is legally justified in calling him guilty) And he admitted that he did touch the girl. He claims that she picked up his hand and put it on her leg and then he gave it a "single pat"
The point is that he has a conviction as a sex offender, which means he should not be in Korea teaching kids or anywhere else teaching kids. That is all. |

Perhaps if he does frequent these forums, he should try to explain exactly what he was prosecuted for, why this was expunged and whether he has any criminal record.
I was under the impression that for someone to have their criminal record expunged, they were eventually found not guilty or the convicted was able to dispute the conviction and were able to expunge their records.
The thing is he doesn't have a criminal record now and it would not show up on a background check. I do understand that the professor is a little angry with the way the case was handled and I wish him luck for prosecuting the immigration authority.
However, if he was still found guilty and served his time perhaps he has learnt his lesson and if not I guess immigration done a good job evicting a criminal (if he was) out of Korea.
I am looking forward to an update of this. I guess there is more than meets the eye with this case. |

The government might even blame him for something and charge/fine him. Things are not "fair and unbiased" here and he has to be ready for a backlash. |

And since Korea doesn't want convicted child molesters teaching their children...

I'm not too sure Korea cares that much about child molesters after what happened at one of my jobs here.
A certain teacher called one of my coworkers and asked her to pick up his computer from his apartment and wouldn't tell her why until after she did. She agreed, and then he explained that he was in jail because he was sleeping in a jimjilbang, had an erotic dream, and started beating off a kid who was sleeping next to him(I have no idea how this reason for groping a kid makes any sense). The coworker then immediately turned on the computer which was password protected and saw the desktop background which was a picture of two smiling shirtless korean boys.
He ended up being released and only had to pay a large fine.
The coworker then told the boss who decided to keep the perv teacher on for another two months and only fired him because the blackmail money from the parents of the boy got too high. |

I'm going to raise two questions/points that people may not want to hear but here goes.
1) does anybody know if that is HIS website?, yeah there wee some pics that were kind of out there but not obscene. I didnt see his name or a link to this fund hes soliciting for. the info seems kind of old
2) People fail to realize that this guy has NOT been teaching children!!! Hes been teaching univ students. Yeah in some ways the two arent that different but the bottom line is he hasnt been working for say wonderland. Hes teaching adults. Now again I dont like it but I dont like the idea of univ teachers dating students, its a no-no
with that said if he had a conviction on a sex-related charge i would likely not hire him to teach anything younger than adjummas |

So you think it's not his site?
BCM Academy in Seoul is where he taught kids.
He was convicted in the US and did time. That's a problem, as is his pubescent gymnast fetish. |

In another article about it it said that he taught kids at a camp during uni breaks.
If that is really his site, and his geos site that he was co-writing with a sophomore in high school (ten years ago), then this man still has problems even if he has a clean record now. |

Only he has. As pointed out above another article said that he teaches a conversation class for children during vacation break. |
