I was chatting to a friend on MSN last night back in the UK.

He's a hazardous waste manager working for a landfill company and for some reason that I couldn't quite work out he has a Korean working for him. Maybe there to learn how to dispose of used Kimchi pots, dunno.

He said that the Korean fella has got the nickname Man-Baby because of his childish behaviour.

If he doesn't get his own way in a meeting he huffs and pouts, starts making as he described it dog bow wow noises when he's talking.
I presume he meant that really annoying noise that people make here when they are unhappy that sounds like a dog.

When they sit in the office to eat Man-baby has his little pots of Korean food and sits there chomping with his mouth open making slurping and smacking noises.

When they go out to dinner he slurps his soup and smack his lips at the table, resulting in embarassed looks all round.

He asked last night if this was normal behaviour for Korean men......I told him no, Man-baby is unique, Korean men never act all childish and pouty. They never smack their lips and show their food to everybody.

dunno if he knew I was pulling his leg or not.

Tell your friend that he should tell him that he's not allowed to have anymore kimchi or soju until he learns how to behave like a normal person. After a while, when the worker still tries to figure out what that means, your friend should show him, and if he doesn't conform, tell him to stop hanging out with him. haha

Hahaha... Man-Baby. I wonder if he knows how his 외국인 co-workers feel about him. I bet he could probably care less as he probably spends his free time reading naver/daum cafe and watching SBS/KBS dramas. 우리나라만세!!!!!!

Tell him to ask Man-Baby if he knows how to use a fork. Plan it with the other co-workers to ask him that question every week or so for the next few months.

So a Korean guy is having a hard time adjusting to a new culture? And the people he works with have never left their own country or met anyone who is different from them so they make fun of him? God that's funny! Keep em coming. Rolling Eyes

I was thinking about it this morning at the gym after I kickd a guy off the bench press I was using. Walked off to refill my water 2m from the bench press, towel still on the bench. He jumped on for whatever reason as he was walking by and proceeded to put his sweaty body on my towel as well as take up the bench.

Told him to get off, he huffed and puffed and pouted, told him to get off and handed him my towel and made a smell gesture at it.

he huffed and puffed and pouted. Made those dog noises of unhapinnessand went on his way to the running machine. Presume he was trying to show off that he could use the same weights as me (not very heavy BTW)

i'll drop my mate an email and ask him how long Man-Baby has been in the UK.

Quite intrigued as to why he is working on a waste disposal site in the UK. I presume he is training towards his COTC(sp) certification if he is working with my mate.

Are landfills ran by private companies here in Korea? i see an incinerator up on the mountain where I live blazing away but never seen a landfill on my limited journey's around ROK.
