You know the game where you use a mechanical claw to pick up prizes, right? Have you seen or won any interesting prizes? The new machine near my home has real lobsters crawling around in water.

Ours has plastic bottles of Xylotol gum. I think lobsters are better, if pinchier.

Not in Korea. The claw machines in Japan have decent prizes: mp3 players, electronic dictionaries, other computer-y type stuff, ...

I got a stuffed animal cat in one at Lotte World a couple days ago. Later saw it for sale at a gift shop for 8,000won.
The key is to go after things close to the trap door, because the claw purposely has a loose grip and it jerks around a lot.

Please tell me you have a picture. Here are a couple of the "Clawing for Lobsters" game.

This one's in Jeonju:

Pantyhose, wireless headsets, Zippo-esque lighters, and we've seen at least one breathalyser, but could never get it.

Samjoen-dong (삼전동), Samjeon Sagoeri (삼전사거리)

On one corner is a KB bank. The game is on the street behind KB Bank. Most Seoul cab drivers should know the intersection.

Thanks! I'm gonna head over there and check it out before they get removed!

To give you an idea of where in Seoul that is, it is between Jamsil Station and Sincheon Station. Good luck.

When I lived in Cheong-ju, I knew this shady pottery teacher/store owner who hobnobbed with various people. One time, I was out drinking with him and one of his rich friends. Later on, I asked him how this guy made his money. Apparently, he was "the guy" who introduced those little claw games to Korea. Yep, he's probably rolling in the dough.

They're usually rigged.....the crane is either too weak(usually) or the items are just big enough to be knocked now on the way to the drop basket...
I was bored one evening and I think I blew $30 on crane machines....I'm a sucker for these types of things...Probaly spent $70 so far.

The most rigged on them all are the gold statues. I figured if I got one of them in a death grip, I'd win....acomplished that...watched as it was too damn big to clear the other statues to make it to the exit.

BTW, anybody know where I can buy one of those machines....they look like good money makers....maybe I can put one in the english class room Twisted Evil
