Here�s the deal: My 13 year old son is really addictive to hard core-porn. Before I take his computer and cell away, I wonder if there is a way I could monitor what he is doing. Please no jokes. This is a serious issue. AH hell, a couple of witty remarks are appreciated. Seriously though, I want to find out the extent of the situation. I know it�s serious for the simple fact that numerous parents have complained and one has even gone to the police. Luckily we had an enough resources to squash the immediate problem. Any help would be appreciated. I posted this in the tech section because I want a technical assessment of the problem. Sorry for the grammar and the spelling but I�m at wits end. I�m no prude but this stuff is wild.

Whose joystick is he using. Might be a lot of issues there and if used to much it could get worn out before it's time.

One who overuses one�s joystick is not as much as a concern as his sharing with others his age (in particular the opposite sex). I guess I�m asking if anyone knows a good keystroke monitor program. Joystick=good reference.

There are programs that restrict the types of websites that can be visited on a computer. Go to cnet.com and look under downloads. there should be some articles and software that can help you.

I suggest using Net Nanny. It really is easy to use and might be of use for you. Of course, porn viewing on computers you don't have access to regulate is another issue...

You're not gonna be able to stop a computer savvy 13 year old from viewing porn on the net. netnanny aint gonna help, in fact, it'll encourage him more as making the "stash" more difficult to access will only make it become all the more sweeter. And, as far as I know masturbation is only "natural" if you're perhaps, stranded on a deserted island. I wouldn't rule out a proper azz kicking applied w/ a lecture on morals. Repeat as necessary. Or, if he hasn't figured out how to erase his net traces you could always invite all your relatives over for dinner and open up the history file and show them all what your son has been viewing...might embarrass him into changing his habits.

Read Dan Savage's advice about this. Kids beat off. Adults beat off. Even ANIMALS beat off (ever seen a horse masturbate? It's freaky). If he wants to watch porn, and he seems to be at the age where curiosity about the opposite sex is rampant, knock on the door before you enter and let the kid explore his own body.
