Mr-Dokdo,
I think from her name that LISAc IS a girl in fact. Her point is...all women should be appreciated in their different forms.
just mentioning... as am I (fadedGIRL) |
Beautiful women, in their own way: http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q113/silascrap/snorlax.jpg |

| The only real solution here is for Western women to dress better, eat less junk, and spend more time in the gym. If they can do that, they will get more of the in+out (even in Korea) and also be healthier. But all this stuff about "curves" and "all women are beautiful" don't mean anything to anyone. So, then, how about it, ladies? |

I weigh 117 pounds and am an American female. It seems like an oxymoron on this thread. I never wore make-up when I was a sprite but admit to putting a smidgeon on in my middle aged years. Younger I could get by with ultraviolet cancerous sunrays to tan, and I didn't care. I also have a figure problem in that there is no way I could fit into Korean female clothing due to my sizing concerns with the tops. That's fine.
Frankly, I think Western guys just think Korean women are more beautiful. Just admit it. If I was living in Argentina and could have any guy, I'd go for it. Would I want to live with one on the long term -- probably not -- each to their own.
Bashing American women on their looks, dress, weight, etc., is weird -- haven't we gotten beyond that in our society? Women dress appropriately to go to work, and then it's up to us how we dress "to socialize". |

I bash American men just as much for dressing like shit, eating junk food constantly, and generally lowering the bar in the country. However, I care more about the women because, well, I'm a heterosexual male. |

| I like any woman who is clean. She might be fat or large, but if she is clean - sweet. That's the good thing about the bathing culture (spas and saunas and scrubbing) of Korea and Japan. |

This thread is hilarious, i was actually talking about it over coffee with some of my GORGEOUS (western) girl friends here in Seoul.
To each their own, I think. And NOT all expat males have it for Korean girls.

-actually skinny is a bigger deal to me than pretty. I don't care WHAT happened to your face. Smoking body is everything. Think about it, your face ages faster anyway.
-although I prefer the asian girls who think they are fat. No, not the ones thaT ARE fat, but you know the type, with a hint of hips and butt.
-Oh heck I don't get laid who am I fooling. AGH! |

Curves are great. Are you trying to justify your penchant for narrow-vulva'd women with 12 year old boy bodies? |

| For some reason I find Asian girls really attractive. My friends here in England think I'm a bit odd. |

a 117 lb American female - yes, if one was going to "play the odds", you ARE an oxymoron (117 might be light though if you're 5-6 or taller)
re Korean women being more "beautiful" - depends on your definition. In the strict sense, I might agree with you, K-gals can be very "pretty", but in the overall sense and in sense of "sexy", a good looking Western woman wins hands down.
and I couldn't care less how women dress either.. K-gals overdress (and dress to hide their lack of womanly assets). A woman with a good figure looks great wearing anything, or nothing
re your last paragraph, I intellectually agree with you, but guys genetically programmed to consider these factors first and foremost. If we merely wanted a great conversation partner, we have guy friends who can talk to.
I don't want to get tied up in yet another fat thread, but things like that Bimbo Simpson stuff really strikes a nerve. I mean, she's "famous" because she's (was) an attractive bimbette, nothing else. Then there are complaints that attention is being shown to the fact she got fat. If one were never concerned with JS's looks, we'd never hear of her (and I for one, would certainly prefer she disappear into the legions of unknowns)
let's let at least be consistent, shall we? Nobody has really gone after the likes of Meryl Streep or Glenn Close for their looks, because their careers were never defined by their looks anyways.
finally - some HONESTY, please? you see the links, you see the pics.
Why the preposterous usage of "curvy", "voluptuous" and other such effing nonsense? Hey, she got fat. It happens to MOST of us, at one time or another. You dust yourself up and get back in shape,, OR if you want, go ahead and say I'm fat and I'm proud.. or whatever like some of those big black women, like Monique.. etc. you can even claim to be big and beautiful -(we just don't have to agree with you or believe you, but you're free to believe it)
but please, just call a spade a spade and not use ridiculous and ill fitting adjectives like curvy, and voluptuous. |

As a former swimsuit model, I would say the general consensus would be that I am not a dog.
Did any of you actually read what I wrote? I am saying that there is no reason a woman should not pay attention to and take care of her appearance. I do think all women are beautiful if they take the time and effort to maintain that beauty. It's sad that so many Western women (or at least so many of the girls I know) don't care for their physical appearance, whether it be through the guilt that our feminist foresisters have instilled in us or through bone laziness. Sure, there are extremes and many girls in Korea I feel are far too conscious of their physical beauty, but a girl who makes herself look presentable - and not just for the male gaze, but for the sake of her self pride - is sending a message to the world that she is self-assured and confident and cherishes herself. That is attractive, no doubt. And women who can't be arsed making themselves look nice have no right to complain that men always overlook them in favour of beautiful women. Like I said, all women are beautiful if they make the effort. |
