I posted something like this a long time ago - people who leave Korea kicking and screaming, vowing never to go back to that @#$@!!! country and within 3-6 months, they are back.

If you don't mind teaching, Korea is a nice place where you can save dough and have an easy lifestyle. I do mind teaching as I have neither the patience nor desire to make it a long-term thing, and that's the main reason I had to leave even though I didn't want to.

Back in the day, it was mostly Canadians fleeing their chronically bad job market in Canada who came out in droves but it seems the South Africans and Aussies have closed the gap real fast.

Well I didnt vow never to come back. I cant say I ever found the culture particularly inspiring but the job was cool and had more money than i knew what to do with, good social life, ate out all the time. I'm 23 and theres nothing i'd do here at the moment with the same benefits. I dont really want to settle in my own country yet when I can live in Korea with these benefits, its exciting, meeting new people, different women. I taught young kids the first time and this time adults and want to be a counsellor eventually and study more Psychology so I can class it all as good experience. I would think though that a second year in the centre of Seoul may finish it for me. Somewhere else could be more exciting but the money and the social stuff is what makes me choose korea a second time.

I didnt vow never to come back and had a great time for 8 months but my end was something of a nightmare which i put down to living in a quiet area, no foreigners at my school other than me, felt really unsupportive. pretty sure i'm coming back to give central seoul a go, the money, the job, the potential social life, the totally different from staying in england experience, and of course sexy korean women are what are persuading me.
