Hey is there anyone out there w/ an F2 visa who can explain a couple of visa/pension things to me?
Pretty please?

OK well here goes
1) When switching from an E2 to an F2, how do I get my pension? Do I need to leave korea? Is there something else I need to do?
2) If my contract ends mid-april, and I'm getting married in May, what do I do in the interum (except for signing the papers early, because I can't do that). Do I need to go to Japan and get a tourist visa? Is there an "engagement" visa?
3) How long does it take to switch from an E2 to an F2?

As far as i know, both for Koreans and non-Koreans, you have to provide proof of plans to exit the country to request your pension payout.
If you're staying on here and working for another company, they won't give it to you. |

Right, but if you notice I'm leaving for a couple of weeks in May. What if I left on a one-way ticket, but then returned? Think I could fly under the radar?
I have a friend who did leave "final exit" once and received it in a Korean bank. |

Yeah I'm sure you can get away with it.
You were planing to leave - and left.
You came back - you'll start paying into the pension fund again.
No big deal. |

That meshes with some other vets. You're leaving, request. You leave and return, but still should get it. Won't be looked into so deeply. Thx again. All I can do is try, I suppose. |
