I just watched Changeling. It is one of the best movies I have ever watched. I recommenced it to all of you.

It stars Angelina Jolie. But, she's a real actress in this movie. It's not just about how good looking she is. It also includes John Malkovich. I've never liked him before, but he's perfect in this movie.

And the director is Clint Eastwood. After Flags of our Fathers, Letters from Iwo Jima, and this, I think that he is one of the top directors in Hollywood.

I liked this movie as well but I think your comment on John Malkovich is way off base. He has way better movies like the one when he was a killer in a Clint Eastwood movie and so many other movies.

I haven't seen Valkyrie yet, so I can't compare. I want to see it, though, just because it was so controversial when it was being made.

And as for John Malkovich, I've just never liked him. He seems to play the same character in every movie--same accent, same mannerisms. He's different from other actors, seems to be quite artsy, and tends to choose interesting scripts. I've liked movies that included him, but wasn't impressed by him.

I did some Google-ing, and I'm guessing that the Clint Eastwood/John Malkovich movie was In the Line of Fire, maybe? I know I watched that movie a long time ago, but I really can't remember it right now.

But, if someone suggests a John Malkovich movie, I'd gladly watch it with an open mind.

I saw Valkyrie on Saturday. It is the thinking man's pop-corn flick. Pretty good story but I just couldn't really get into it. Did shed some light on that particular assassination attempt, for me. I wasn't aware they got as far as they did.

The best movie I have seen all year is In Bruges. Was robbed of an Oscar nomnation in my opinion.

If you liked Changeling. Watch Gran Torino another great flick.

I enjoyed Valakyre mainly because WW2 impacted my family greatly its good to know that not all Germans were physicos bent on killing everyone.

As for In Bruges.. God damn that was a horrible movie, I tried watching this movie twice couldn't get passed the 50% mark. Slow paced uninteresting, horrible script plus Collin Ferrel one of the shities actors alive. I had a hard time connecting with any of the characters, I just didn't care for any of them. Plus they could have toned down the cussing. Its like every second word was a cuss, worse then a spike lee movie.

In Bruges was written by Martin McDonagh.

It is definitely not a horrible script. Every single action in that movie moves from the motivations of the characters. It should be given to aspiring writers to show them how to write a script. Slow only equals bad for those with no attention span and little subtlety. Cussing...ordinary people use swear words, at least in Ireland and Britain. My father and I use swear words in basically every sentence. It is right to use natural language in movies.

Half of the story is that the place is a shithole. Maybe set it in Hawaii. I like the references to purgatory and Farell's speech at the end ties in with that. It wouldn't really be as deep if it was set somewhere interesting.
