AND, right, don't tell me Scott that you and your wife didn't hold a little candle for each other when she was in your class. She surely wouldn't have made her feelings known to you had you not given her that vibe.

You almost got me...but luckily I had broken up with my ex (who in doing so returned the engagement ring that had been on her finger for about a month) about five months earlier...and was still in the 'i can't believe that happened' phase....so I didn't get any vibes. My future wife kept her interest a secret while in my class and if not for a twist of fate (and some tequila shots during an end of class party which was the first time i had been able to drink with my students), we may have never started to date.

But I can't say that the looks that I get for some students don't put little twinkles in my eyes...and sometimes less than professional thoughts in my head...well...I could...but you know that I was lying...

That's funny...from looking at the replies I would guess the title of this thread to be "Is it okay to bonk your adult students?" The question stated was about dating...

Sometimes not dating somebody that you know likes you and that you have a common interest in can be more distracting than actually trying it. Sexual tension exists whether there's any sex involved or not. Dating somebody and having sex is the physical manifestation of the interest two people have with each other, but it's just as present without the dating and/or sex. If a teacher and a student are interested in seeing each other, that's where the problems can start (or a meaningful relationship if it's meant to be).

The only time dating/having sex is different than just having an interest in someone is when other people start getting involved - family finds out, school issues a warning, etc.

Yes it is un-ethical. Ex students are cool. But current students is just icky, and it smacks of lechery.

Not really a fantasy...She asked me today what my ideal woman is like and she said I am handsome.....but she is a good teacher.....I don't want to jeopardize that. But, she is wife material, I am not talking about a fling...

Tall, Roman nose, killer body...?

No, actually she quit while I was still a student there (back in 1998), so probably someone else.

But everyone at that place was shamelessly flirty, from the woman running the place to the receptionists. Glad you decided to enroll. Cool

Yes, but it is possible she likes me? I am not bad looking and am in the intermediate class. I am her only student. She even bought me a coffee.

Of course 1998 was a long time ago...
