Hi everybody

I'm here in Korea, have finished my job, and am looking for a good job starting anywhere from late feb to mid- march.

There's so much stuff out there but if anyone is working somewhere decent in a good area could they email me

I'm looking for a hagwon with good day hours, public school, or afterschool program in a good area (convenient...close to subway) In soeul or just outside like Ilsan, Bundan, even Suwon.

I have experience here and back home. (I worked in an elementary school and was going to do the teaching program so have taken some teaching courses. My minor was English too.

Please email me [email protected]

Thanks

Just remember the old saying 'replace a quitter today, BE a quitter tomorrow'. This applies in about 95% of all cases.

You're already in-country why not wonder about the area you stated and see if there is anything that suits you? That alone, being in-country, gives you priority over other job seekers. I would assume that you have all your paperwork in order as well, if not you need to get out of the way soon.

My God, girl.. get off your ass and look!

It seems you'll accept almost anything; and you're already in K-land. It shouldn't very fucking difficult. Rolling Eyes

Happens every so often that someone asks for a handout. Never works, and why should it? Pepper the recruiters with your resume, OP, post your resume on servers, and hit up your friends, just like eveyone else.

Having said this, another site (expat korea dot com) does have a link that posts job opportunities from one expat to another. Highly doubtful that any of that pans out much either, though! LOL.

I am also looking for a great job. I want the least amount of hours, the highest pay, and as much vacation as possible. I don't want to do much work when I get to the school. I would like to find a place where I can sit around and do nothing and still get paid for it.

I don't feel like looking around myself, I am hoping that someone on this site will just give me a lead to this type of job. I am really lazy.

I can help you out, lebowski, if you have a Ph.D. in a non-English related dicipline, at least one year of teaching past your doctorate, including at the grad level, a few publications in international journals, and a decent research agenda. It's not all that easy getting the job, but it's possible.

You won't have to do too much at work after you're hired, and you'll probably have to publish one paper every year or so to keep your job. You'll get extra money for that, though. Great coin, only a few teaching hours a week, long paid vacations...everything you want. If you can forgo any sense of professional pride, you can go lazy all the way, baby!

Not a very helpful crew we have here.

The OP's likely sorting through job ads and shady recruiters; she was just wondering if anyone teaching at a half-decent place could give her a heads-up about an opening.

Sheesh.

That's what recruiters do.

That's what a personal network can do.

That's what posting a resume can do.

Yeesh.

I have a decent job and I'm leaving it in March.

Would I give it to somebody directly of Dave's.

Bollocks would I.

If I even suspected that a Dave's Mental Asylum Cafe poster was coming for an interview I would check all their posts thoroughly before subjecting my lovely co-teachers to any sort of loser from on here.
