So I have some korean friends who want me to get cyworld and Nateon so we can talk....
I already set up a Cyworld account months ago, but 3 days after it was created, it was deleted for no reason ARGH! Now they recently changed the entire registering process and removed the english registration...they still have waegookin registration and I can read the korean to fill it out, but it always gives me errors whenever I try to submit it.
Surely there has to be an easier way...and has anyone been able to maintain a cyworld page? I swear, cyworld has vendetta against waegookin.... |

I have a Cyworld page and signup was pretty difficult. I had to fax or e-mail a copy of my alien registration card. They may have deleted your account because you failed to do this. If it's not working on your computer, I would use a different one. Use Internet Explorer if you haven't been.
If you sign up for Cy, I believe you get a NateOn account automatically. |

Alright I managed to do it!
I did send the info they requested...they actually have a part where you upload scans of the cards they want(passport, ID, Driver license).
Now I just gotta wait a few days again.
Here's hoping they don't delete it again! |

This is Korea - that's why. It's not to say Cyworld is an amazing site anyway. Not worth it IMO because I don't trust them with copies of my passport or ARC. |

Wow, what the hell do they need that for? The number of places that request this kind of info is down right creepy. Why don't they just tattoo a barcode on our foreheads and get it over with. |

Are any of you stupid enough to fax or scan your passport or ARC card to them? This is a website like Myspace or Facebook and you're sending them quite confidential information. Oh wait, my bad, the internet and these companies are completely honest and there is never information theft. Wow, people are stupid. |

Its nothing like myspace or facebook because this is korea...This country is quite used to giving out that information..Koreans do it everyday..Koreans also need to give their private shiz when signing up to cyworld...and cyworld hasnt done anything evil with their details.. |

The only hurdle is the need to be able to understand korean. |

I've had a Cyworld page for three years. I had to fax a copy of my ARC to them. I haven't updated in probably two of those three years and it's still just sitting there stagnating. |
