Goldberg makes it abundantly clear in his interview (did you bother to listen to it?) that the media slant campaign this time around was unprecedented.

I wouldn't put too much stock in an interview with a professional wrestler.

Case in point: a couple of people get wind of an allegation that McCain had an affair with a former staffer. It appears on the front page of the New York Times within two days.

Doesn't seem all that fair, especially considering Obama confessed all his sins in Audacity two years before his campaign started. What an amazing strategy. Old news is not news. Obama smoked pot and even said that he inhaled, that it was kinda the point. This was in his book.

You can't bury a story that's been dead for years.

Let me finish your sentence: "it's always been, on the side of the liberal agenda."

Actually if you go back and read the front page stories in the NYT from a couple decades ago, they did not editorialize to the extent that they do today. And on TV you didn't have soon-to-be news anchors like Chris Matthews waxing poetic about that warm tingle in his leg every time he hears Obama speak.

Revolting.

Soon-to-be, eh? So if you've ever had an opinion, you're not allowed to be a journalist? Please.

Twenty years ago, the people with all the disposable income were conservatives. So the news was biased toward facts and charts and graphs. Why? To sell more papers.

Now all the pot smoking drug fanatic hippie pinkos are getting to retirement age and they're the ones with the cash. So the news wants to tug at your heart strings, churn your belly, and make you proactive. Why? To sell more papers.

The media wasn't always against the right-- I seem to remember there was a period where Bush was being praised on a regular basis for taking action, right after 9/11.

And as for the 2008 campaign-- let's take a look at the candidates.

Obama is a charismatic and well-spoken intellectual with an African-American heritage, whose election would represent a symbol of nationwide social change, with a running mate content to just sit back and keep his mouth shut.

McCain is an ancient warhawk with ties to one of the most unpopular administrations in US history, and his running mate was an outspoken backwoods bigot with all the social graces of a thirteen year old boy in special ed... who, due to McCain's age, could very well have inherited the presidency.

It's kind of hard to imagine anyone, let alone the media, gravitating to the latter. That the election was as close as it was is actually pretty depressing.
