I have a slight problem when trying to watch H264 movie files with Gom player. When characters are speaking their voices are too soft and it's difficult to hear them, however all the music and sound effects sound fine. The movie plays fine with VLC media player but I need Gom in order to use Korean subtitles. Has anyone else run into this problem?

Video card issues? I know that I have to upgrade my com very soon because of some of the same issues. You're saying it plays "Fine" with VLC Player, or "Kinda Fine?" I recently upgraded my RAM and am still having similar difficulties. It has seemed an ongoing issue with those two media players. What won't work with one, may work with the other after playing, and then replaying the video. Seems as if VLC is the winner usually though.

The movie runs perfectly fine on VLC, no problems whatsoever. Unfortunately VLC isn't compatible with Korean subtitle files (.smi). I tried converting them to .txt files but then all I get are question marks when I try to use them. Sad

Stupid question, but is there a mute setting?

Also, did you open the audio control center icon in windows and check that all of the levels are high?

You can download GOM in English, if it's not in English on your computer.

Is your GOM player set up for 5.1 sound output?

If you're just using headphones or PC speakers (stereo) then you should only be using 2.0 sound output.

not really fixin the problem but why don't you save the smi files as srt files?

Give subtitle worksop a go. Great bit of freeware that you can use to edit and save subtitles
