My visa expires on the 23rd of this month, my school wants me to work until the 20th. I'm wondering if it is possible to change to a tourist card after the 20th. without having to go to Japan.

Has anyone ever done this? I seem to recall getting a short extension the first year I was in Korea, but the rules have changed so much since then, I'm not sure what to expect.

Thanks in advance.

In that case, you just want to travel around Korea for a month before leaving? If so, get a month extension. I haven't done this, but I assume immigration will change it over to a tourist visa and give you until March 23rd.

I believe you can do it online through the Immigration website. Same website you use to make appointments with Anguk office or apply for a multiple entry visa online.

Someone have the link to that site?

Here you go -

You must have an airline ticket out of K-land in order to apply... and don't forget to take a hard copy of the confirmation email to the airport with you as proof you have not overstayed your period of sojourn. Very Happy
